This rustic-looking walking stick is mounted with a 50 cm. long blade that was cut down at the foible, the ricasso secured into the handle with two rivets. Shape of the blade is indicative that it was either from a smallsword or a rapier. The piece is 88 cm. overall; wooden sheath is wrapped with tarred twine, and capped with a brass shoe. A nice, rather primitive old sword-cane, possibly American-made.
