Description
This one-of-a-kind and exceptional Bavarian Model 1855 infantry officer's sword dates ca.1860-1890, and is mounted with a superb, true Damascus blade. Traditions of the glory days of the past were well-alive in the selection of the blades on the Germanic officers' personal arms, and this particular sword is no exception. Note the talismanic symbols on the three sides of the ricasso, all finely done in gold-washed relief. Blade measures 86.5 cm. A beautiful, unique piece!
