This very scarce Model 1818 NCO sword was made by the famous American blade-smith Nathan Starr, who was the only contracted maker. Blade is stamped with his name, along with the proof mark and the initials of the armory sub-inspector Elisha Toby. Blade is about 26", retains most of it's factory luster, and has signs of prior cleanings. Scabbard retains much of its japanning. Only 3000 of these swords were produced, and few have survived. This one is in better condition than most of those survivors.
