AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR OFFICER'S ENGLISH-MADE SWORD

This English hanger is of the style popular with the British and Colonial officers at the time of the American Revolutionary War. Iron hilt is of the slotted variety, with a gadrooned globular pommel, grip is ebony, retains it's original brass ribbon wrapping, and has chips on top and bottom. There are two original leather washers between the blade, guard, and grip. Blade is Montmorency, plain, 26" long. Leather scabbard is decorated with X designs, and has age-shrunk about 5 mm short of the blade.
An excellent, untouched American Revolutionary War officer's hanger with very rare intact original scabbard!
