SPANISH COLONIAL ARTISAN-MADE SADDLE STIRRUP

$0.00

Description
This Spanish Colonial horse saddle stirrup originates from what is now Southwestern USA or Mexico. The hand-hammered iron brace and loop for saddle leather, sheet brass cover, and two cast brass braces have patinated well. Brass braces terminate in what look like stylized hands. Wood has split from age. I don't have the expertise to date it, and it wouldn't surprise me it dated from the 18th century, or earlier. It's a heavy piece, 3.5 lbs or 1.3 kg.
