This wonderful Spanish Andalusian plug bayonet dates to the late 18th-early 19th c. It measures 41 cm long overall, with a 27 cm long blade. Grip is made of horn, the swell is circumscribed horizontally, with ebony pique-work inserts. Brass recess plates with scalloped border hug both sides of the recess. Maker's mark J*J is stamped on the back of the blade. Top of the blade is decorated with file-work. Scabbard shoe and cross-guard terminals are decorated eon suite. A superb, museum quality piece!
